When Hiring for Maid or Housekeeping Services

Postby mrscleannw on Tue Mar 25, 2008 2:11 pm

Hello 1stclasscleaning and Welcome Back to Mrs. Clean's Forum!

Those are very good points to remember when you are seeking cleaning service. We also have a page that lists additional things to consider at:

http://www.mrscleannw.com/hire-maid.html

When considering hiring a service It would be a good idea to have a print out of all of the specific questions when calling for information.

If you take time to do a little prep work, you will be able to select the company that best suits your needs and avoid any "surprises" or issues after your cleaning.

Hiring maid service

Postby Infomation 1324 on Tue Jun 10, 2008 6:47 pm

Hi 1stclasscleaning

Yes it is very important to have a list of question like Mrs clean mention, here is what I offer as a little guide line you can go by.

We service weekly, bi-weekly, or just a one time cleaning, or once a month service, you will want to get that out the way first, also see if they work on the weekend, I don't service any clients on the weekend, due to church on Sunday, so I pretty much try to keep my week clear.

what service do they provide, I perform by a 50 point check list, which include, I touch everything in the home, I vacuum, polish, and scrub my way right through the home, so make sure they have a guide line that they preform by, and make sure they clean ceiling fan, dust blinds, remove cobwebs and clean baseboards, and window sills, and have it down on paper, be aware, that some companies will charge you for everything out side of there check list, Mine check list include everything, and when I quote a price it's all include.
make sure what type of policies they carry, Like myself I offer a 24 hour guarantee, meaning if I come into your home and you are unhappy with the work, not the whole house but what ever area you are unhappy about I will come back and re clean that area.
Find out also if the company is license, insurance, and bonded, that way you will be compensated if anything happen in your home make sure they have insurance to cover the damange.
also find out how many people is going to service your home, you don't want a team of people in your home, most companies tend to hire people with little or no experience, and you will not be satified with the work after they have finished.
Ask for referral, a list of people, not just one or two, you know they can easily get a friend or two to cover that end.
Don't make a quick decision when looking for a service provider especially if it one you plan on keeping around. Find out a little about the person if you plan on leaving someone in your home while you are working, Trust no one, put up important papers, jewelry, medicine, Id, anything that is important, If you do decide to get someone to clean your home My advice would be after you have chosen someone to come, put away all item that you don't want expose. thats pretty much all the information you need to decide in selecting a good cleaning service. Good luck
